~Beautiful Poem for all those who have lost a pet they love~

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. Such a beautiful poem. I think all people who have lost a pet or might lose a pet soon should read this.

Oh I have read this when my dog, Chewy died! It makes me cry to, just imagining the beautiful place.

I know!!! I mean, I cry at the ending because I imagine my pet rabbit, and her beautiful black eyes looking into the sunlight, and seeing me she starts running towards me & we are happy again. I just miss her soooo much, it just makes me cry with joy to think about seeing her again! :'(

that is the most beautiful poem I have ever read. I will definitely remember it for multiple reasons. like most human beings, I was afraid of dying. not anymore, now that I know what's waiting for me on the other side. :')

My cousins have a white chihuahua named Bitsy that needs to be put down today (11/16/12). I feel bad for my cousin Brandon 'cause he is gonna come home from science camp to hearing that his favorite dog has to be put down.

Oh my goodness! Really?? That's so sad. I'm so sorry guys. :'c I liked Bitsy...we had to dog sit him for a couple weeks, and he's a really special dog. Rest In Peace, Bitsy.
If you don't mind my asking, what happened to him? Is he just old or did he get hurt or what?

Guess What? They are going to let him live!
So here is whats been going on so far, Bitsy is weak but didn't get put down he is probably not going to make it for long and probably not get better but he is still eating and being able to walk a little. Im sad but happy.

They thought that it was either rat poisoning or cancer. They ruled out the possibility of rat poisoning though because the people that live to their left have young kids the people to their right have their grandchildren and the people across the street and left have a dog. At the moment they cant to do blood tests.

Our dog bear died over summer , and the vet who had to put her down gave us that poem, it was really sweet and made us think of you, Admin. On the bright side, we got TWO (yes, two!) Puppies! they are about 5 months old now, and about knee-high. we got them when they where about 6 weeks.
